Section 9.2

We took the entire period to look at the one example below.  The whole problem revolves around understanding basic row operations and the idea of elimination (from back in grade 10) to produce zero's in the bottom triangle of the system (see diagram in notes below or read in your student text).
I strongly urge you to read pages 499 through 507 of your text for a deeper understanding of this concept.

NOTE I:  Tomorrow will be a "work" period with problems assigned from section 9.1 and 9.2. 

NOTE II:  In class on Friday we will touch on some of the concepts from section 9.3 and 9.4 and that will conclude the material that will be covered on the exam.
